School Lunches

Our school is committed to healthy eating and works closely with parents and Twelve15 to ensure that children receive a balanced diet. From September 2014, all children in reception, year 1 and year 2 in state-funded schools in England will be eligible for free school meals.

Please remember we are a NUT FREE SCHOOL. This is due to the number of children with severe allergies in our school community.

School Lunches:

All our school lunches are provided by Twelve15. Please click here to visit their website.

Twelve 15

School lunches for Juniors (Year 3, 4, 5 & 6) cost £2.70 per day. Please pay on-line using scopay which can be accessed from the 'Parents' drop down list on the home page. If necessary, you can also pay by cash at the school office, but we prefer all payments to be made on-line if possible.

Please click here to visit the Twelve 15 website.

Free School Meals

Some families are eligible for Free School Meals which will ensure that children get at least one hot cooked meal a day.

The Facts:

  • registering is confidential
  • taking up the meal is recommended but is not compulsory
  • cashless payment systems for school food can be introduced to reduce the perceived stigma associated with free school meals
  • a child may receive additional help as a result of being registered, for example help with the cost of music lessons or school trips
  • registering a child for free school meals will bring more money to their school

Applying for free school meals

Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:

  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

Please come and talk to Mr Laing if you would like further information about Free School Meals.

Packed Lunch

A number of children from our school choose to have packed lunches. We regularly monitor the contents of these and will contact parents if we are concerned about the balance of different food stuffs. Please remember we are a NUT FREE SCHOOL. This is due to the number of children with severe allergies in our school community. You may refer to the resources below for further information about healthy packed lunches and do not hesitate to come and have a chat with our staff if you have a question relating to lunches or any other aspect of our Healthy Schools agenda.
